At this point, enter the following command:Įxit the console. If you still freeze, the problem could be the reward King mentioned above. At this point make a second save, then try re-entering the glitched part of Freeside. Pacer should be in front of you, but alive and not hostile. At this point you may fail several quests you can manually add the quests again by using the resetquest command in the console. Now exit the console by pressing ~ again. Resurrect (resets Pacer's priorities and history - as long as you don't exit the console before resurrecting this shouldn't mess with your quests) Prid e0ce (targets Pacer, even if he's not in the current cell)Įnable (these two make sure Pacer is recognized by the game as valid - if the game freezes here, you've found your problem) Player.AddToFaction 0001b2a4 (to prevent you from not being a member of the "Player" faction, which causes weirdness)

Open up the console commands with ~, then type the following (and enter in between each line): Go to the Mormon Fort, or if not possible to a section of freeside that doesn't lock up on you (the area just outside King's may work).

Make a separate regular save before trying this. I'm loving this game, and it would be a real fucking bummer for it to end like this.Ĭlick to expand. The most common cause of this bug is the spawning of the King soldier who tries to run up to you and give you presents for being a good Freeside citizen. If anybody has any tips for me about how deal with this kind of issue I'd really, really appreciate it. I've deleted the local content in Steam and am re-downloading, in the hopes that maybe it's a problem with my installation. I went back to an earlier save file, redid the quest, and ran into the problem again as soon as I finished the quest. I can fast travel out of the fort, but them when I try getting back into Freeside the game also hangs. If I actually successfully enter the Mormon fort and try to leave it again via the front gate, the game always gets stuck in the loading screen. I just completed the "GI Blues" quest in Freeside, and now when I try to go to the part of Freeside where the Mormon fort is, it frequently hangs up in the loading screen, with the roulette shell spinning forever until I kill the game in the Task Manager. Think my Fallout: New Vegas experience my be ending in a depressingly familiar way, pretty much exactly like my Skyrim experience did-with a game breaking bug. I also posted my tale of woe in my WIP thread, but I wanted to put it up here, too, so more people might see it.
